Shake the Stress: 3 Tips for Busy Mums

Shake the Stress: 3 Tips for Busy Mums
26 / 04 / 2016

Being a mum is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, but it’s also one of the hardest. It can be very easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life with your child. More often than not, when juggling all your different roles and responsibilities, you can find yourself sacrificing valuable ‘me-time’.

All the chaos can threaten to get on top of even the most organised mums. Stress can really take its toll. As we’re advocates for giving mums a well deserved break, we thought it would be helpful to share some of our stress relieving tips for the busy mums out there!

Take Small Steps

Before your child came along, you might have been the most punctual, organised woman in the world, but as your life dramatically changes to parenthood, you start to notice that you have less control over what you can and can’t do.

It’s a well known fact that babies don’t always behave the way we’d like. Whether they need feeding while you’re out and about or you spot the signals for an emergency nappy change, life naturally starts to revolve around your baby’s needs.

With this in mind, you should aim to make smaller goals to go about your day. Not only will this make you feel accomplished when you manage to complete a task without being interrupted, but it will help you tackle those much bigger tasks in more manageable chunks!

Take a Break

No one said you have to be on the go 24/7. Remember to take some guilt-free time for yourself! There’s nothing to say that you can’t sit back and relax when you’ve got a spare five minutes while your baby naps.

Grab a good book, settle down with your favourite Noozie® electric hot water bottle and let your stresses and strains float away as you immerse yourself in a completely different world.

Unplug Your Technology

Being a mum can get quite noisy at times. Crying, babbling, noisy toys – it’s no wonder that many mums can feel overwhelmed with so much noise around them. Let alone the added noise of their televisions or radios – or even the added stress of other technology.

Sometimes, all you need to do is just unplug yourself from technology for a while. Turn off the TV, turn the radio down, mute your phone and unwind with your baby.
