Get Into a Pattern

Our second tip for getting a great night’s sleep is to try and get up at the same time every day. If you stick to a consistent sleep and wake schedule, you’ll give yourself a chance at setting your body clock… without having to press snooze. Find yourself a time that best suits you and try and stick to it! If you find that you need an alarm clock to shake you out of bed in the morning, you may need to look at getting to bed a little earlier; the morning-you will thank the night-you.

Don’t Sleep In

We’ve all been there and we know exactly how tempting it can be, but try not to sleep in – and yes that includes the weekend! Your body doesn’t understand that you have the weekend off, even if your brain does, and it will begin to give you jetlag-esq symptoms. If you find that you are in the position to catch up on sleep, because you’ve been having too fun of an evening, try to catch up by taking a nap; that way you don’t interfere with your sleep-wake schedule.

Nap Smart

We know it can be tempting to have a little snooze in the evening, but if you nap at inopportune moments then you could be causing yourself hassle further down the line. Don’t be cursing yourself for giving into temptation when you’re wide awake at night!

Sleep is a marvellous thing, so it’s important to give yourself every opportunity to experience it at its optimum. To do that you may need to alter the way you approach it, but you’ll be grateful you did! A good night’s sleep can make the difference between a really unproductive day and a great one, so try utilising some of the above techniques to make your nights cosy and comfy and your days bright and cheery!
